This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect
Subscription and Account Data:
Information provided by Apple App Store or Google Play regarding your subscription (purchase history, renewal, cancellation, status).
Usage and Device Information:
We use Amplitude, a third-party analytics service, to understand how the App is used. This may include: anonymous device identifiers, app version, language and region, and usage events such as app opens, which stories are played or completed, subscription-related events (e.g., purchase attempts, successes, or restores), and similar product interaction data. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or other contact information. This data is used only to improve the App and is not sold or used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
We may also collect crash or diagnostic-related information to improve stability.
Permissions:
Audio Playback Permission – required to play Bible story audio files.
Background Audio Permission – required to continue playback while the screen is off or when switching apps.
We do not access your microphone or record any audio. Permissions are used solely to enable playback functionality.
2. How We Use Information
To provide subscription access and verify entitlements.
To deliver Bible story content and related features.
To analyze usage (e.g., which stories are popular, how the App is used) so we can improve performance and user experience.
To maintain security, prevent fraud, and ensure service stability.
We do not use collected data for advertising, cross-app or cross-website tracking, or marketing to you in other developers’ apps or sites.
3. Data Storage and Security
Data is transmitted securely and protected with technical safeguards.
Local data (favorites, playback history) is stored on your device only.
We do not store or access payment details; all transactions are handled directly by Apple or Google.
Analytics data is retained only as long as necessary for analysis and improvement or as required by law.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share user data with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not sell your data.
Information may be shared:
With our analytics provider (Amplitude) strictly to analyze how the App is used and to improve the product. They are contractually required not to use this data for advertising or tracking purposes.
As required by law or legal process.
In the event of business transfers such as merger, acquisition, or restructuring.
We do not share data for third-party advertising or for building profiles across other apps or websites.
5. User Rights
Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple/Google account settings.
Request correction or deletion of your data by contacting us.
Stop all data collection by uninstalling the App.
CStory does not track users across apps or websites and does not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or require App Tracking Transparency authorization.
6. International Transfers
Data may be processed in other countries (e.g., the United States) for hosting, analytics, or error reporting. Appropriate safeguards are applied to protect your data.
7. System API Access
Our app accesses the following system APIs only for essential functionality:
File Timestamp APIs – for managing and organizing audio files.
System Boot Time APIs – for performance monitoring and optimization.
User Defaults APIs – for saving user preferences locally on the device.
Audio Session APIs – for audio playback and background functionality.
All API access is limited to core app functionality and does not involve cross-app or cross-website tracking.
8. Privacy Manifest Compliance
Our app includes a Privacy Manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) that declares:
We do not track users across apps or websites (NSPrivacyTracking: false).
We collect usage and device-related data only for analytics and app improvement, not for advertising or tracking.
We only access system APIs necessary for core app functions.
This is consistent with Apple’s privacy standards.
9. Data Minimization
We collect and process only the minimal data required to:
Provide audio content playback.
Manage subscription status through Apple App Store.
Analyze usage to improve the App and fix issues.
No contact information or payment details are collected; we do not use data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
10. Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted within the App and on our website; continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
